NFL coaches have complained about the lack of NFL quality quarterbacks for as long as I’ve been watching the game. But the question remains whether jump from 63.4 to 51.5 from 2017 to 2018 was an indication that the trend is continuing? Or did the shift effectively end around 2010 and this is just the new normal?įor now, I don’t think there’s a crisis. This season’s average draft position of 55.0 is representative of the last eight seasons.
